Flight Training

Quantum Aviation is a CASA approved flying school providing quality flight training from the first lesson of the RPL, through to the CPL, as well as add-on training for multiple turbine types, multi-engine aircraft, instrument ratings and various vintage and tailwheel aircraft.

We provide initial training on the Cessna Caravan, PC12 and TBM850, including the Gas Turbine Engine (GTE) design feature endorsement and CASR 61.747 type training, as well as initial multi-engine class ratings and 61.385 competency checks on a variety of twin engine aircraft. 

Scenic Flights

Quantum Aviation utilise Cessna aircraft for scenic flights over the NSW Hunter Valley and local vineyards from our home base at Cessnock Airport.

Our scenic aircraft fleet consists of a Cessna 172 and the air conditioned Cessna Grand Caravan. Both are perfect for those wanting to see the Hunter Valley from a different perspective!

24/7 Air Charter

Quantum Aviation operates a charter fleet available 24 hours a day 7 days a week, even at the last minute, for both passenger and urgent freight operations.

We operate a mixed multi-engine and turbine powered fleet including a Pilatus PC12, and Cessna Grand Caravan.

In addition, we also operate various single engine piston aircraft and so, have an aircraft available for almost any mission.

Nestled in the heart of the Hunter Valley at Cessnock Airport, Quantum Aviation is a CASA approved flying school offering a full range of flight training services — from your very first lesson right through to advanced ratings and endorsements. Whether you’re dreaming of getting your Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL), Private Pilot Licence (PPL), or progressing to Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), multi‑engine and instrument flying, tailwheel, or gas turbine endorsements — Quantum has you covered.

Located at Cessnock Airport, about 45 minutes from Newcastle and under two hours from Sydney, our school offers nearby student accommodation, a café at the airport for refreshment breaks, and a friendly, professional instructor group. 

Their training fleet includes reliable aircraft like the Cessna 172, BE76 Duchess, Grand Caravan, PC‑12, and tailwheel types. We also have a CASA‑approved simulator available for certain training modules.

In addition to our flying school operations, we operate 24/7 air charter across Australia.

Cessna 172

Looking for a dependable and cost-effective aircraft for your flight training or hour-building flight? Our Cessna 172N is the perfect choice. This classic four-seat, single-engine high-wing aircraft is known for its solid handling, excellent visibility, and forgiving flight characteristics—ideal for both student pilots and experienced flyers.

With upgrades including a modern transponder and GPS to make navigation easy and efficient.

Beechcraft Duchess

The Beechcraft Duchess is a reliable and versatile twin-engine aircraft widely used in flight training. Its stable handling characteristics and dual-engine setup make it an excellent platform for teaching multi-engine operations, including engine-out procedures and complex systems management.

The Duchess offers ample cockpit space and modern avionics, enhancing comfort and situational awareness for student pilots.

PiLATUS PC12

The Pilatus PC-12 is a versatile, single-engine turboprop aircraft renowned for its exceptional performance, spacious cabin, and reliability. It can accommodate up to 9 passengers and is equipped with advanced avionics, providing a smooth and efficient flight experience.

Its cost-effectiveness, combined with low operating costs and a reputation for durability, makes it a popular choice for both business and leisure travel.
