Cirrus Training - Sr series

The Cirrus SR Series has become one of the most recognisable and technologically advanced single-engine aircraft platforms in general aviation. Designed with safety, performance, and modern avionics integration in mind, the SR series combines high cruise performance with sophisticated cockpit systems and the industry-leading Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). The aircraft is widely utilised for private, corporate, and advanced flight training operations throughout Australia and internationally. Our experienced instructors provide approved Cirrus SR series training for both initial endorsements and recurrent proficiency purposes.

These qualities have made the Cirrus SR series increasingly popular with private owners, charter operators, and professional pilots alike, and many pilots will encounter the type at some stage during their aviation career.

While the Cirrus SR20 and Cirrus SR22 do not require a formal type rating under CASA regulations, Cirrus strongly recommends that initial transition training and recurrent proficiency training be conducted by a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP). Our training syllabus follows Cirrus-standardised procedures and includes extensive briefings covering aircraft systems, avionics operation, automation management, CAPS procedures, performance planning, and Cirrus-specific operational considerations. Training is conducted over multiple flights to allow adequate opportunity for briefing, consolidation, and detailed debriefing between sorties. Students are encouraged to take full advantage of the operational experience and technical knowledge of our instructors throughout the course.

We provide training in modern Cirrus SR series aircraft equipped with advanced Garmin Perspective, Perspective+ and Perspective Touch avionics suites, however training can also be conducted in your own aircraft where appropriate. Our aircraft are maintained to a high standard and are equipped to support both VFR and IFR training requirements.

The complete Cirrus SR Series Training Package includes comprehensive ground briefings, training materials, and Cirrus approved flight training. Training can be tailored to suit owner-pilots transitioning into the aircraft, pilots requiring recurrent training, or those undertaking advanced IFR and automation proficiency development.

Depending on operational requirements, Cirrus training can be conducted Australia-wide, but is primarily delivered from our Hunter Valley base at Cessnock Airport in NSW.
